
The Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge will be held for the 34th time from February 21 to 27 under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, representative of the ruler in the Al Dhafra region, who is preparing for the start on the new track in the Al-Khatim area. Previously, the camp was opened only for motorcycle participants.
The organizers announced that this year in the Al-Khatim camp for the first time in history automobiles will be allowed, which will become a significant addition to the event that continues to develop year after year.
"Al-Khatim" is located on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi and will be an ideal venue for creating excitement in the rally camp. The route will pass through the deserted "Lost Dunes". Changes may lead to significant modifications in the ranking of participants.
In the marathon camp this year, the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge will gather a large number of star drivers in the "Al-Khatim" area. Participants will make the necessary repairs themselves, without outside assistance.
Speed, navigation, and perseverance will be key elements of the expected version of the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, with new stages added in "Desert Bezlyudnoy" and more than 50% of changes in the route, which makes the competition even more captivating.
Teams from all over the world are gearing up to participate in the upcoming stage, registration is open until February 7 for both professionals and amateurs.
David Castera, director of the world championship for desert rallying and director of the Dakar Rally, emphasized that Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge has become one of the most significant rallies in the world, consisting entirely of sandy dunes, which continues to develop and remains attractive.
"Exploring new horizons is a key value of motorsport, and the new rally route will present a unique challenge to participants," he said.
Khalid bin Saleh, deputy chairman of the Organization of Automobile and Motorcycle Sports of the UAE, also expressed gratitude to Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his constant support of the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, noting that without this constant support the event would not have been able to continue its successful history.
